I have loops drilled into the cement floor and use ratchet straps, had 1 get out about 4 months ago and luckily the cat was looking down at the tank like "WTF?" and somebody went down and checked...thats when I got serious about tying the tops down.

My roof/cover of my aquarium is very heavy.. My HB Gold does not jump but when i had a silver i would hear an occasional "THUD" and still the roof doesnt budge..
 
I could be wrong but wouldn't it be nice to give them room to jump; as this is something they enjoy. Possibly make a top that gives them room but makes them fall back into the tank after instead of clunking their head into it.

I'm in the midst of building a fence around my pond so he can jump :D
