I went to turn my fish lights on this afternoon and feed my fish. I saw what looked like a 3'' piece of shrimp in my tank. It turned out to be my 3'' leutistic oscar the ones that are labeled as albinos but have black pigament. I was so mad because I was looking forward to raising an oscar again.
I know the culprit. It's my 7 to 8'' Rio Meta Orino he has become super aggressive in the 6 foot aquarium which is odd since it has more space. He is bullying my temensis peacock bass who is smaller. I seen him chase the oscar and then stop. So he must have gotten to him at night time. The oscar was too big for him to eat so the stupid thing had no reason to try and attack it. My friends are telling it oh I bet it's the black or gold or red wolf. I highly doubt it was them. they would have bitten him and eaten him. Plus the plecos and other fish go in their cave and they do nothing. why would then suddenly attack an oscar?
Anyway tomorrow I am going to bring the peacock to the fish store. they give out good credit so I know I can get a good sized oscar if any are in stock. but down here in South Florida places thing as oscar size increase so does their price which is ridiculous. In New England I could get a large oscar for like $20 here it's like $50-$70. It should be the opposite considering I can go to the canal and catch them.
