Many people who know me in the outernet understand that I am an ordained minister and able to perform ceremonials and rituals of a varying array. Yes, I have even performed wedding ceremonies. But my primary line of work is pet funerals.
You would be amazed how busy a guy can be in a big city with a ton of pets.
Anyway, in a recent reassessment and understanding that I know nothing about what I am doing as an aquariast (that's why I am at MFK - to learn about how lucky I have been) - there was a discussion about loaches.
So I remembered that I hadn't seen my loach in days, so I searched... turning over rocks and not finding the loach, but finding a well eaten carcass at which I had assumed was the loach. I was sad and firnly reassured that I'm a complete idiot.
Well a day or two had passed by when I saw my Giant African Filter Shrimp's exoskeleton getting picked through by a gaggle of ghost shrimp.
I am unsure, but I believe I may have accidentally killed "Captain Attitude" in a frantic search for a loach that would be better off in a different tank - but obviously doing fine!
At the memorial, I recalled how he was the biggest shrimp we ever had and although it was cool to watch him scrap the stuff growing off of pleco poop and eating it he really resembled a cockroach more than any shrimp we ever saw.
The thing that made me saddest is though he lasted a pretty long time he was the most expensive thing I've bought to date! $12.99!!!
RIP "Phil Terr" a.k.a.
