Many people who know me in the outernet understand that I am an ordained minister and able to perform ceremonials and rituals of a varying array. Yes, I have even performed wedding ceremonies. But my primary line of work is pet funerals.

You would be amazed how busy a guy can be in a big city with a ton of pets.

Anyway, in a recent reassessment and understanding that I know nothing about what I am doing as an aquariast (that's why I am at MFK - to learn about how lucky I have been) - there was a discussion about loaches.

So I remembered that I hadn't seen my loach in days, so I searched... turning over rocks and not finding the loach, but finding a well eaten carcass at which I had assumed was the loach. I was sad and firnly reassured that I'm a complete idiot.

Well a day or two had passed by when I saw my Giant African Filter Shrimp's exoskeleton getting picked through by a gaggle of ghost shrimp.

I am unsure, but I believe I may have accidentally killed "Captain Attitude" in a frantic search for a loach that would be better off in a different tank - but obviously doing fine!

At the memorial, I recalled how he was the biggest shrimp we ever had and although it was cool to watch him scrap the stuff growing off of pleco poop and eating it he really resembled a cockroach more than any shrimp we ever saw.

The thing that made me saddest is though he lasted a pretty long time he was the most expensive thing I've bought to date! $12.99!!!

RIP "Phil Terr" a.k.a.

Just curious: was that pet wedding? Making sure they don't breed in sin?

No, it was humans - friends of mine. Good looking out though. I did meet one lady that wanted her dogs to "get married" until we got to the point where she explained they were male and female from the same litter!

I said it wasn't legal in most states and she never really talked to me again!

how big was he

Almost as big as my index finger (I have very large hands) a little over 3 inches nose to tail not including appendages, feelers, antennae, etc

He was such a freekish creature...

HOLY CRAP!!! He's still alive!!! Giant African Filter Shrimp sighting!!! We have confirmed it was just a lot. Again, just a molt.

Capt. Attitude is bigger and darker than before, but it absolutely healthy!

It was just a molt!@!!

I thought "NO way is that just a molt!" There was inner workings attached to the shell and I searched the whole tank in a search for the mini loach that was still alive that I previously thought was dead.

The lesson as always, I am a complete idiot!@!!! Or there is a mystic portal in my aquarium...

CAPTAIN ATTITUDE IS OKAY!!! He is still alive and filtering healthily.

lol thats great. Wow the captains a ass for doing that to you.
