Since there seems to be a lot of political and news oriented talk in the lounge right now I thought this might be a cool thread.

What would you consider the ideal political party? And who would you want in charge of it?Or maybe see represent it in the presidential race of 2008.

I'd like to see a true conservative party.Tough on crime.Allows states to run their schools without interference.Does away with affirmative action.Keeps taxes low.Lets capatalism run it's course.Eliminates welfare for unqualified.Put restrictions on immigration.Basically pushes for it to have the smallest possible role in our lives and focus on our protection and keeping itself running smoothly.

I think Tom Tancredo(R-Co) would represent this party well. He's no nonsense and not in the pocket of big business.Probably doesn't have enough "charisma"for the White House but would be good at steering the party in the right direction.

It's probably unavoidable but I'm not trying to start a debate. Just curious what others think our country needs or doesn't need.

Eh Would rather see a revolution than another president right now :( Seems more for the rich and powerful than the people as a whole anymore ....

Sign up now for my Egocratic Party. We strive to make the nation's policies conform to whatever is in my best interest.

:iagree: Thats what I would want as well. Another revolution would be nice, like the one we had in the 80s aka The Reagan Revolution :)

I dont know,I dont even bring political parties into it.It comes down to Bush supporters or Bush opposer and if you have seen the Presidents approval rating lately than you know Bush supporters are a minority.;)

I think it comes down to more conservatives and liberals and we know liberals don't like Bush and a lot of conservatives don't like Bush either.

You misunderstand the purpose of the thread. It's to ackowledge that neither party really acts on it's basic principals.

This is kind of like fantasy football but with government.
