The Perfect Temperature

Hey Everyone. I just have 1 question. What is the best temperature for CA/SA Cichlids. I try to keep them around 80. What does everyone keep their cichlids at.

I keep mine a little lower than that, around 76-77 in attempts to possibly curb some aggression.

i like to keep the african tank at 78 or so this seems like its ok with everyone in the tank.

80 is ideal for me. It seems to help grow-out juvies well.

above 80 set my sevs off to breed. i keep it about 78 now

So keeping a warmer tank (80*-82*) tends to lead to increased aggression? Interesting. I have been keeping mine around 78-80 and my and my midas seems happy.

It CAN but IME an aggressive cichlid is going to be aggressive regardless if the temp is 82* or if it is 76*. The increase in temperature increases their metabolism leading to more eating/faster growth.

Exactly. I keep mine around 82 so they eat more.
