Finally got the good camera back in my possession today!

a 20 minute walk through the fish room and this is what I ended up with..

one of my favorites.. got this one from ccooler on aquabid when he was 3" he is now roughly 5.5". I never expected him to fill out this nice and the pearl and pattern is the reason I bought him. Check out the flowerline on his eye in the last 2 photos. I just noticed it the other day and ever since I've been wanting to get a picture of it.

here are some 3-4" synspilum X blood parrots bred by a local guy who goes by the name Vittleking on the forums. I am not sure of the sex of either of them yet.

this one is a mystery.. I got him the other day when I went into the pet store for dog bones. I'm still not sure what he is but he came from a really unreliable pet store. He was mixed in with some blackbelts and convicts but there was no way he was bred at the store. My guess is he's made up of convict and jack dempsey but it's really hard to say. I also thought firemouth and salvini could be mixed in there at some point. I think I will let him grow out a little until I start taking any real guesses.

Looking Good Cam. The Ccooler fish is sweet. I was thinking JD and Firemouth on the last one, but you could be right FM and Salvini.

thanks everybody. Rob when I got that fish I saw a fair amount of red and pearling on his belly making me think thoritchys but today when I was taking pictures I snapped one and his whole underside looked like a dempsey. Never seen a fish with blue gill plates and underbelly like that accept for a jack dempsey so maybe it's firemouthXdempsey but like I said I will have to grow him out a bit. The pictures also aren't the greatest but it's still a small fish.

damn, that fish from ccooler really blossomed! and that silk seems to be a pretty slow grower, what became of the 2 kamfas you got from julie a while back? of course, im going to put in my guess on that last fish, and i say its sal x jack. the reason being, is that it exhibits traits of both female dempseys, and female salvinis imo. also, it has a complete dempsey body shape and an angular salvini head, if there were fm in there, i would think it would be a lot taller bodied.

I added this guy in with a female trimac his size about 5 days ago to see how he would act around females and he hasn't went after her once yet. I can't believe how nice he is to her. Last night she laid a ton of eggs on the decoration in the picture so I'm keeping my fingers crossed the fry make it just to test the males fertility. I don't intend on keeping the fry since flowerhorn X trimac is a step backwards but I will leave them in with the parents and hope the ccooler fish on the other side of the divider eats most of them.
