We have other pets- fish, lizards, a frog... the sunfish eats feeder crickets that have died, sick or dead fish, extra Convict and guppy fry, etc.
He recently ate a dead green anole, and regularly takes care of swatted flies and captured spiders. Between all that and the fact that there's
no fish food he won't eat(cichlid pellets, betta flakes, whatever), he enjoys a varied diet!

My bullheads will put your green sunfish in shame.....these bullheads eat everything organic literally!

Bullheads... man, I'd like to get one or two when I get a bigger tank set up!

Given the place I caught him, I reckon he's got a pretty robust immune system ;-)
Be careful, even robust fish can die from eat a sick fish or dead fish.

I agree, green sunfish are cool fish!!! too bad i have to sell mine due to my new trout :( selling him for $7.50 in the mfk marketplace if ya wanna take a look

I would be afraid to feed it sick fish, but iits kinda a natural food they would scavenge in the wild..

That depends on how badly decomposed the dead fish is. Most fishes won't touch badly decomposed fish if it's still floating or bloating in the wild.
