Female kenyi - metriaclima lombardoi are blue with black barring.

how do you tell the diff between it and a yellow lab?

It's hard to tell if the fish in the picture is a male kenyi, a yellow lab (labidochromis caeruleus) or a hybrid. When I first looked at the picture, I thought it was a poor quality yellow lab.

Just got off the phone with my buddy who owns the local lbs he said a hybrid yellow lab

I checked that link and they also look like juvenile male kenyi
