I wanted to see how conservative I can be with his food, so I was feeding him every other week. Now that it's getting colder, I started feeding once a week, I need to finish up those frozen mice in my freezer before they have to sit there until May, lol! I got 3 left (so 3 more weeks). Hope the weather doesn't get too cold by then. I haven't done his hibernation set up" yet.

I keep him in the garage with the fish tanks. He hibernated even when I had him indoors in the living room. I don't have a temperature control. He's just kept in a 30g tote with an 8" water dish. When it get cold, I fill the bottom with some Eco-Earth and like Kev says, he just borrows down for months. I usually get him up by April or May. He's been doing this for 4 years now.:)

Thats really cool.

There was a show on Monday night that had a segment on these frogs. It covered how the males fight over the females during mating season and also how the males look after the eggs and young tadpoles after they hatch.

^ They do have a pretty unusual and interesting life cycle, that's for sure! It's pretty cool how devoted the males are at taking care of and protecting the tadpoles.
