Rather than revive an old thread that I started a while back, I thought I would start a new thread on this.
Basically, I am going to turn my house into a kid's pet paradise (with me being the biggest kid).
I started another thread on this and then got totally sidetracked with both business issues and personal issues. The only thing I will say about these matters is DON'T MESS WITH THE CHEF!
The back drop story on the house is that it was a rental property that we picked up on speculation that it was in a good enough area to accrue in value if there was a real estate spike. We were blessed to be able to buy the vacant lot next door 8 months after we got the house, so we have a nice double lot property.
This being said, as a rental property it has some work that needs to be done to it.
Here is a drawing of the upstairs floor plan.
I was going to do the basement area first, but decided that this summer I would do the three bedrooms. Not the type of reno I had in mind, but the above issues bit my reno budget.
The girls room, just a shot to show the color I mixed up.
The boys room, a few pic's.
These dino's will go up on the other walls.
I will post up a couple of room pics as I am just about finished the room and it's accompanying wet pets.
The third bedroom midwork shots, I had some great help
she means business
I will take a few pics of the finished room tonight.
This is sort of a reno before the reno, kind of like doing a primer job on a car to at least get it ready for the finished job.
When I do the finished reno is when we move to our new 7 bedroom house located 15 minutes out of regina.
The basement in this house is actually going to be my private fish room/hatchery and the upstairs will become a rental property.
The basement had a burst pipe behind the wall that made a mess. I started gutting the basement mid winter and found all kinds of suprises (no insulation behind the drywall, many areas under the flooring and behind the drywall where moisture was creeping through, and some of the electrical was bunny hopped using extension cord material. The carpentry on the basement is very good though totally rock solid and the concrete work is as well in fantastic shape and the foundation is as well.
Just a couple of pics of the basement.
as you can see this room was basically just a flat out storage area that no one went into.
which lead to finding this
which lead to me doing this
Now just after I did the above, I had to stop and turn my attention to other matters. Now the time has come for me to turn my attention to the basement again.
I do not promise an insane fast thread, but I do promise a unique quality build.
