The Repti Temp 500R thermometer

Not worth the plastic its made of, IMO.
I used this myself for about a month way back in the day. I had to adjust the temperature almost DAILY to get it to stay in the range I wanted, and even then, there was a 4-5 degree variance. I was using it to control heat cable in a diplay-type cage setup.
One day, I heard a really loud click come from the corner of the room where the cage was. I didn't think much of it until about an hour later, I noticed my thermometer reading over 100 degrees on the warm spot by the heat cable. The thermostat had failed and allowed full, uncontrolled power to go to the heat element. It was 4 months old. Good thing I was home, otherwise that thermostat would have cooked my snake.
Ranco and Johnson Controls make MUCH better thermostats for about $20 more than what the Repti-Temp costs. Worth every penny as well.
