hey guys,

i just bought two little dats an indo and a silver. all i want to know is the right kind of food i should feed them so that they can grow quickly and healthy. right now they get a steady diet of brine shrimp and bloodworms with the occasional feeder guppy. i just want the little guys to be happy and stay around for while. any help would be great thanks.

50 gal
1-3' indo
1-2.5' silver
1-4.5' leopard ctenopoma

try market prawn. so far your on the right track. IMO making them grow faster would depend mostly on your water quality. also try feeding them 2-3 times a day instead of one huge meal.

:iagree:

High water quality is definitely the key to bulking them up. You could try beefheart as well...that will put some girth on them. I do two 1/3 changes every week and feed twice a day. If you feed two smaller meals it's much easier keeping track of what your dats are eating and preventing any uneaten food from spoiling.

Some of my dats are out at different times of the day so some of them wouldn't eat if I only fed in the morning. It's weird, but one of my NTTs is a "morning fish" and the other is a "night fish" so I make sure to feed at a few different times in that tank.
