The scum on my aquarium glass is gone?

I am hoping someone can shed some light on this miraculous development in my tank that just occurred! 3 days ago I did my usual water change/glass clean/filter clean and did nothing unusual. The only thing I did that was different from every other time was I changed the media in my canister filter, cause it was time. To my amazement, my water is the clearest it's ever been and there is absolutely no scum build up on my glass. If anyone has any thoughts on this, so I can continue to duplicate it, I would be thrilled!

Carbon and ceramic rings, and that's it, and it's the cleanest, clearest water/glass I have had.
