Took a trip to Chicago, so a visit to The Shedd, the best aquarium for freshwater fish, was a must. Wish I had more time to explore.

Amazon Exhibit is incredible. Here are a few shots from it:

Some type of small crocodile?

Here is the same tank with Discus now, see the background?

These dinner plate size Red Hooks were incredible to watch.

This guy was in charge of a huge tank full of plants, neon tetras and a ton of hatchets

This was a tank to itself, with about 30-40 of these huge humpheads with little room to swim

Li, good eye :) Yeah it's a huge freaking snake there. And, yeah, flash was used. They dont really like it but with a handheld unit, it was pretty easy, not like they saw it reflecting off the glass.

Yes sir, that is an Eunectes. A Green Anaconda to be exact. They seem to be a fixture in every major aquarium. Boston and Baltimore each has one, too.

snake doesnt eat the fish?

No they don't seem to.

Thats what I was thinking...

thanks... so you put the flash up against the glass?

Yeah, you try to do the same thing you do in the reg. tank, light from above. It's tougher in the Aquarium, so you have to raise it high, amp it up and try to get as close to vertical angle as you can.
