the smell of death??

Well one of my bigger gouramis died i found him floating at the surface (?), yesterday when i feed my fish in this tank i didnt see anything dead, but today a little more than 24 hours later i come home and it smells like dead fish. My parents dont believe me that the fish died recently because of the smell. How long does it take for the dead fish smell to come?

maybe 12 hrs it will start to stink, warmer water and air the quicker and stronger

Start doing some water changes. Water probably has a decent amount of ammonia in it

I have loadsof fish die in my care (probably not something to admit...or be proud of. im not) and i have never smelt this!

Maybe im just used to it
