original idea for this was a local biotope, but plans change, especially if your me, so while currently the idea still remains biotope, dont be surprised if it changes
currently my eleotris picta is living in the tank, but thats only a temporary measure. the only fish i can really keep in here that are truly local are awaous banana, which the biggest ive seen were only about 3 inches long. if i do it as a biotope, this is what i will keep, well, a pair of them.
i dont have much of a selection of water plants.. my current hardscape (picture attached) is literally begging for some java moss to be growing on the wood, and some bright green smaller plants for contrast, maybe a couple of val to fill in the vertical. i found val growing in a stream but i think it was introduced, there is a plant that grows locally but i have no idea of the name of it, i will get some pictures and try to get a positive ID, its not the most attractive thing, but i could make it work.
water clarity.. right now its clear, and i like it, most of the streams are not clear, usually very muddy which i will not recreate or attempt to,but some areas have that clear but brown stained water, this is a possibility but for now it'll remain clear, if i want it stained i'll just throw some leaves in.
technical specs.. twin dynaflo 10's, with some ceramic bio media in the bottom, then some aquaclear filter pad on top, mostly because of the water cow, it creates a bit too much current for if i go planted, and the higher current areas are 100% rock, which doesnt appeal to me. its a standard 10 gal, 20x12x10
anyways enough rambling, this is how it looks right now, well, right now i have a water cow happily hunting some crayfish, this is how it looked when the pic was taken earlier
any suggestions/criticism/advice is appreciated !
