so I ordered a sheet of 8x2x3/8" tempered glass today. Was wondering if that would be a large enough tank for an aro and a colony of fronts? the tank will be about 300g

well i just made a deal with the wife, so now i can make the tank up to 40" from the wall but i have a ton of HOB filters i plan on using so i was thinking 96x24x36" but i only plan on filling the tank about 22"s
I'm not too familiar with building a tank, but shouldn't you be using at least 1" thick glass for an 8ft tank?

why would you keep an arrow with fronts? neither would be able to thrive due to drastic ph differences..
PH is something fish can adjust themselves too. my plan for the tank is using 3/4" plywood, then going around the top,bottom and middle with a 2x4" or maybe some 1/4" angle iron.

You also may have a bit more reading to do...
Even though Height is more important,you still have to consider width and length. A 1/8in piece of glass wont work for a 4x4x1 tank.
