I have two CRAZY jack Russell terriers, Rocky and Jack. They are sisters, we got them when they were three weeks old. They are 9 years old now and still very hyper.
Well about 2 years ago Rocky was squinting her eye and I thought maybe she scratched it but when she opened her eye it was fully dilated and black, I called my parents and we rushed her in. My vet sent us to a specialist in the states and he said she was blind and had to have the eye removed. The next day my vet removed the eye. Her lens pushed back in her head causing major pain so that is why it had to be removed.
So we were trying to save the sight in her other eye with drops but recently she is 100% blind. We take her to London to an eye specialist which is 4 hours away every 3 months. She needs 9 drops a day in her eye, three different kinds of drops. This keeps her lens from dilating and causing pain.
We go back September 14th. She does good, I have been teaching her commands, stairs, tree, stop, ect and she is getting the hang of it. She is still happy and full of life. She still goes for walks, still plays, goes swimming, ect.
That dog is amazing. She has been so good threw this. It breaks my heart to see her blind but it doesnt even phase her, she is full of life and demands treats. I love her so much no words can describe how much I love her and Jack.
Every night we pile up in bed and watch movies and snuggle. I love it.
Jack is such a little bugger, she is so sneaky and bad, lol but I love her to bits. My dogs mean the world to me.
