Anybody else here a fan of The Strokes? Just curious because I'm a pretty big fan and I'm going to go see them live on October 9th :D

yea i am. saw them in 2002 when they only had the is this it album. jack white also came onstage to play in the encore of new york city cops. fantastic show.

Awesome! They're playing in a relatively small place here in RI and my friend and I are going to try to get as close to the front row as we possibly can. Do you have any favored songs?

personally i only have the albums 'is this it' and 'room on fire'. i didnt bother with ones after that. even room on fire was a bit of a dissappointment to me. my favs were 'is this it', 'hard to explain', 'NYC cops' and a couple of others from that album. 'reptilia' is ok. i like the end has no end. they will be good in a small venue, and i would recommend the front. :) had the time of my life when i saw them. they played reading festival (prob 2nd biggest in UK) in 2002, and they headlined one night, because they had to fill a gap that someone pulled out of. they played a great set, and not many people even knew who they were, and they were greatly recieved

I'm a fan of

Someday
the end has no end
take it or leave it
you only live once

:D

It should def. be a great show and I'm really excited about seeing them.

Supporting?

You mean opening for them? or sponsoring the show

I'm really not sure who it is. The doors open at 8. They perform at 9 pm. All the banners say is THE STROKES with special guests.

Some of the songs on the first album are not bad, mainly last night, the modern age, and hard to explain. Overall though they are boring and contrived. Almost all of their songs are neatly structured 3 minute songs with corny lyrics, mic and pedal effects to make them sound like they're playing on ****ty old 70's amps, and generally not very daring. They also rip off the Velvet Underground and the Doors big style.
