I was out looking to get my pops a Royal clown knife for fathers day and after hitting up 8 shops I found one but the dealer had it labeled as Clown Knife $8.99. Correct me if im wrong but this is a royal right? Good buy?

There's a thread abt this. It turns out to be a juvenile clown which will outgrow the stripes and adopt the spots. Sorry to burst your bubble.

I agree with santoury - that looks very different than the juvenile striped clowns I've seen before. That's an incredible looking knife. It looks like some sort of crazy cross with the body shape of an asian chitala and the coloration of a gymnotus tigre or zebra. How big is it?
Looks like there might be a dorsal fin clamped down on the back but it's hard to tell from the pic. That would be helpful in IDing it.

This has very little to do with young Chitalas ( those, in fact, sometimes look like Royals ). This one seems a diferent fish, a more seldom seen knife.
