I wasn't sure this was gonna work, and I'm pretty sure without the bigger fish in there it wouldn't.

I tried the Dorado trio in the 180 and they were chasing eachother so fast it was making sand tornados. After several hours and aggression showing no signs of stopping I decided to hell with it and tossed them in the big tank. It was priceless watching them chase eachother till the big Brycon swam by, all 3 Dorado immediately filed into line and began shoaling with the Brycon, just following along. Aggression was gone. I ended up loosing 1 of them a few weeks later to the rays, but after almost doubling in size and loosing the mean big female ray that enjoyed picking my fish off, I have no doubt the remaining 2 will be OK from the rays. However I don't know if they're gonna be ok with eachother long term. They bicker every now and then, few missing scales here and there, but usually no tattered fins or anything too serious.

The Aimara will be added once the preggo ray pops and the divider is pulled. A few more months and the half dozen Odoe that are currently on their 2nd growout tank should be big enough to add as well..... Should be a sight when done.

Hope you enjoy.....

:)

There's 2 in there.... The bigger ones a monster. Pics don't show it real well, but that big brycon isn't a whole lot longer then the Dorado, but it is taller then both Dorado put together. The thing is huge. I really didn't think they'd get that big. I got a group of 4 from Shawn up in MN. Unfortunately the rays got several of them. VERY peacefull fish that adds a lot of movement.

They seem to pop up every now and then at the LFSs up in MN. Not 100% but think they're the Melonopterus (sp) or something like that, not for sure. I've seen them called Equadorian barracudas too. I thought most LFS would have access to them.

Thanks Rob! They usually appreciate the space, but the divider in there is cramping their style....

Yeah I have never seen them in the stores here, only in the books that I have.I don't even recall Sharkaquarium having any at the times I was there.
