I really hate people. A while ago (I forgot to post about it) some kids from our neighborhood came to our doorstep holding an extremely emaciated and dehydrated diamondback watersnake. He could hardly lift his head. The kids wanted $20 for it or they would kill it. My brother grabbed it from them and took it inside. We gave him some water, and he drank for a solid ten minutes. The next day we got him some platies to eat. He ate three in a day. Once he was in better health we released him at the local pond where they probably found him. It just amazes me how cruel people can be just for the hell of it. If anybody lives in Texas and wants to err.... Have a word with these kids, PM me.

I'd say, "How's about you hand over the snake and YOU give ME $20 not to kill YOU."

You've got awesome gun laws down there, and I'm pretty sure a kid waving a snake around at you will qualify you for Stand Yer Ground.

(I'm being cheeky but I'm not even joking--NOTHING makes me mad like animal or child abuse. But I'm willing to engage in the latter to stop the former.)

I was thirteen, and my brother was 15, and they were 16 or so. And there was like six of them. If that was turned around it would have gone down differently. One had him by the head and was threatening to rip his head off. I did punch one of them yesterday when I saw him at the park :) that made my day.. I wish I'd done worse.

I was messing around above, and also didn't have any idea you're a minor. Don't get in fights with kids your age. If anything get somebody to video tape it and then report them to the authorities. Yes, that makes you kind of a snitch, but animal abuse should not be tolerated in any form.

Don't worry about it. And yes, I would do anything to save an animal.

Some people just need a good ass-kicking. Seriously.

I was in florida in june and saw some punk ass kid catch a Needlefish, lay it across a garbage pail, crudely and messily hack its head off, and then throw it back in. I started talking smack hoping he'd take a swing at me and I could beat the tar out of him but it was on a public pier...

If you have any of their information, send it this way, what if -cough-the Texas DEC were to drop them a line and threaten some charges.

People like that make me sick. I remember a few years back I was at my gf's friend's house and her 17yo brother had a garter snake in a jar that looked extremely emaciated. I asked how long its been in there and he said he caught it 2 weeks ago! That's when I told him to give it to me and I took it home and nursed it back to health. He didn't try to argue or anything, just handed it right over
