Why do they do that? Is is when the feel secure, or hunting, or other fish are around? Love my NTT, but I love the look of him when they are up. Would like to give him the environment that causes that, of course, unless that is a defensive thing.
Well like all spikes on a fish it is for defense when about to get eatten but besides that mine do it all the time when eatting. I think its because they focus all their attention on what their about to eat that it makes them open to attacks so when they are in this state they deploy them up for protection.
