Hi all, I wouldn't mind adding a catfish to my 48g JD tank. If have tried bn plecos but he hates them (actually hates everything but me lol). Is there some thing more "armoured" etc I could put with him?

I personally wouldn't add anything the JD has claimed the aquarium.
It would be unfair imo for the catfish armored or not to constantly be harrassed.

Well a raphael catfish would probably be your best bet. Though I agree if he has been targeting and killing brislenoses, he probably just doesn't want to live with a catfish.
Bristlenose would probably be your best bet but since that doesn't work. You can only expect a fish to be armored enough to handle the odd nip. Expecting it to survive constant harassment and attacks from a larger fish is just going to get it killed at best and inhumane.
You could try a raphael. They typically jam into a hiding spot and stay inactive during the day and come out to feed at night so they shouldnt interact too much. But if the JD is harassing the raph during the day he will just end up dead eventually.
