Hard to believe that this once staple is kind of a hard fish to find these days. Not the Siamese algae eater so commanly mistaken with but the original. Not none to eat beard or brush algae like its cousin...but I'll find out soon if there up for the task.

I know its crazy. When I bought these guys I thought they were just a nicer variety of Flying fox I wasn't aware of and then from doing some research I find out that these guys were the originals. Wierd how the originals now are the hard to find species to get.

Great fish, thanks for posting. I have NEVER seen that fish before. It's like a red-tailed shark, except in your fish the red is in the pectoral fins. Fascinating!!!!

My guess to to why its not widely available is its brown coloration. Brown doesn't sell well, unfortunately!

Yeah hes quite dark but in real life the fishes colour is more predominant plus they have an irredescent gold stripe through the body. HD video does always get all the details lol.

Nope, its from south east asia.
