O that is awesome! I got a small sengal birchir and he was barely 3 inches when I had him fished out of the feeder fish tank at petsmart and I got him for feeder price also! its been a little over 2 months and he is about 5 inches just eye balling him, they are really awesome fish I can't wait till he gets full grown! hehe

yep mine is really close to yours size now but mine is skinnier... the only thing I can get mine to eat is earth worms and khikari gold medium pellets that I have to chop into thirds ... can't get him to eat anything else but hes worth it

careful as you may turn addictive to them like I am now,
I give mine feeders also, but I always quarantine them first prior feeding, but for the growth, bloodworms or earth worms will do the best, as they are a steroids. I don't like giving them pellets as it mess up with my water easily. I also found that my bichirs grows faster without pellets, but that just me, others may think differently.
Btw, how many bichirs do you have atm?what are they?tank size?or maybe post some images too,
