The value of a GT and JD?

$50 for both would be a little steep. 50 each is ridiculous.
Over the summer, someone brought an absolutely gorgeous GT around 7 or 8" into the store where I worked along with a couple others just to dump them on us cause they outgrew his tank. If I had a tank to keep him in, he could have been mine for free, but I didn't have room for him and neither did the store, so the jackass threatened to go toss them in a corn field cause he didn't want them. Made me so mad for the whole rest of the day. He was just one of those people who should NOT keep fish (or any animals for that matter). Moral of the story though is that if you find the right person, you could end up with some quite nice ones for cheap/free.

yah, there was no way i was going to go through on the deal, i didn't even respond to him once the value was told to me.. i thought people here may get a kick out of my little experience. also, at the same time get some opinions on the value of these two fish.

The prices will vary a great deal depending on where you are. Both are a pretty available species. I might drop 50 on a perfect foot long gt with a flowerhorn like hump. But it would have to be absolutely perfect. I have dropped 30 on a great white saum and don't mind it one bit.
