I first got the bug almost 10 years ago...just they way they looked with them eyes like they were looking at you like " I wish you would". They are beasts. The action and colors of different species. I'm hooked. Bout dat C.R.E.A.M Life.

for me, Oscar was my gate way drug. before then we only had fish that really did not do anything. just swam and ate. with cichlids you have just a plethora of personality, colors body size and they will act just like they do in the wild if given the decor.
 
They are not overly territorial like an Umbee or Dovii... I like the way they cruise in the tank , big and full of personality

I always thought bass were pretty cool with their bulky body shape, and good sized mouths that they like to stretch.

And then I saw there were bass with badass colors and designs that could live in tropical waters- I'm done- just done- want it.

I married a brazilian, would go fishing in the amazon for them…so I decided to get into them & now I am importing them myself! For me they are the obvious choice because of their mixture of power & beauty. I have always kept fish since very young, but Cichla are another level of fish to keep than any of the others out there.
