I have been keeping wild discus now for a while.. but recently have dove head first in and I am starting to get a bit of a collection. I kept domestics years ago even breeding them etc but lost interest pretty quickly. These wilds are way more fascinating to me (and challenging! every time I think I have it down something new happens) it is so cool to see the different colors the fish exhibit - even the same fish with different moods. And kinda understand where the domestic strains developed from. The other thing I have found is they are more cichlidy- meaning they have bigger personalities and more aggression. Below are some random shots- some I know the collection point some I do not. But I plan on adding as I go along to try to keep track of there development . Feel free to comment or ask any questions.

Thanks

Wow! :D Wilds sound so interesting. Could you give us a rundown on the tank set up?? :)

If I can ever shake the whole monster fish thing, I'd love to do a huge planted discus and angel tank. Looks good Jay
HAHA- thanks John... you know I love my monsters... but I like to have some smaller stuff around too... Plus it doubles as a great grow out tank! ( I have a baby Liechardti in there now)

Awesome Jay! That's some set up! :) What's maintenance like?

Jealous!! I got my first batch of domestic to about 4 inches now and they are 4 months old about. Wilds definitely are still intimidating to me though.

it is an evolution... but I recommend trying them at some point.
