aha rats are actually awesome pets, Took one home from work one day that just caught my eye out of the litter we bred and didn't want to see him get fed to a snake. and I've had hamsters/gerbils/guinea pigs/etc throughout my life and apart from degus rats are probably the smartest rodents I've had lol.
