Has anyone ever seen a Thelassophryne amazonica (true freshwater Lion, Frog, Toad- fish) in a LFS or on an online available list? There is even less info on these than Batrachus trispinosus the brackish cousin.

If it's a true FW species, then why is this thread in the brackish forum? You might get more replies in a freshwater forum.

Well, because it's closer related to the brackish species than any other freshwater fish. What " freshwater forum" would you suggest? It doesnt fit in any of the sub forum categories.

i havent seen one but i think you would get more luck in the General Aquaria Discussion forum.

i have seen them once here in the uk
i'm currently looking for a couple and cant find them anyware at the min
they are supposed to be quite poisonus

I bought one when I ordered them in when I worked at Pet Supermarket. They were labeled as prehistoric monsterfish on the Segrest Farms list. It died on me pretty quick, so I have no real experience with it. I'm sure they are available occasionally since they were on their order list for a while at that time
