Hello everyone.....i live in NY and we are having a hell of a heat wave...I want to know how can i keep my tank from over heating in the room i keep him in...there is no air conditioner but the tem keeps getting to 86 degrees...i dont know what to do to keep it down...please help...got a motoro 10m in the tank thats it

you are fine, rays can handle up to 90 degree heat, most of us keep the temps in the 80s to up thier metabalisum

My tank stays around 82-84 degrees depending on room temp. Your tank will be fine, just make sure you have enough aeration and water circulation as warmer water means more active rays and less oxygen

make sure you have good waterflow and loads of oxygen in your water, nice powerhead blasting in air would be good and he will be fine.

I've had my rays in 94 degree water for about a day or two because of a heater malfunction. they were fine, but like others said, keep the water moving on the surface to increase oxygen. do some nice cold water changes every few days.

To answer your question, there are chiller units you can buy and install to help keep your water temp down in the desired range. Check out aquaticeco.com for a great selection of them.

Thanks everyone... another question i am moving my ray to a 120 gal tank and its not set up yet but when i get it going what's better a fish less cycle or should i get some tetras to start the cycle?....
