Ther foods for GSP's??

Hey all, I was wondering what i can feed my GSP's to ensure there teeth are getting filed down. Apple snails are 3$ each here and i cant afford to spend that kind of money. Other snails are not available.
so what do u guys feed ur puffers??

I feed crab legs every third feeding. You can hear them crunching away from across the room.

yeah you can definitely hear the puffers crunching on crabs! i thought that was crazy the first time i heard it. i constantly see mine trimming their own, whether its on my live rock, seeing them pick up empty shells i have scattered all over the tank, or seeing them pick up pieces of crushed coral chew it and let it go. but i go with crabs, clams, snails, the more variety of hard shelled foods and natural trimmers they use in the wild the better off you will be.

a ten g tank and a hand full of the pond snails, i ask the lfs if i couls have a bunch they gave them to me for free, and now i have more than i need for my GSP. i just feed them algae pellets and they do the rest. i always cull a good veriety of sizes to keep the main breeders in there
