Theraps coeruleus ?

Anyone out there keeping Theraps coeruleus at all? I'd like to hear any information you have about them .

Or even better where i might locate some small F1 fry , hopefully locally .

I have a group of juvies growing out right now. They are tiny, ranging from .5 to 1 inch. I got them from Dan Ye-Jennings at American Cichlids. I don't think there are many around.

Give her a call. She only had a limited amount when I got them but she may be able to get some more. She is great to deal with.

I have a 7" bonded pair in my 180. They are pretty peaceful but once a pair formed the male killed 3 other large males I had from Conkel. Beautiful fish. They are riverine so appreciate clean water and a very strong current. I feed mine NLS and even at this size they still like veggie flakes. Good luck with them, awesome fish.

NorCali, have you ever had any luck with spawning them? What are you keeping as tank mates?

Norcali thanks , I hope Jon and yourself end up having lots of successful spawns. I am having difficulty finding this species .
Here to both of yuo having great success....and maybe some ry to send me LOL

No spawn with this particular pair but I did have another pair before that laid eggs but wound up eating them. They share my 180 with my Asfraci pair.
