as I browse through kijiji everyday I often stumble across some poorly made ads. I see people trying to sell their used 10 gallons for $300 or someone selling a 2ft arowana that outgrew their 55 gallon. well today I stumbled across this very contradicting ad. clearly the guy does not understand the definition of great condition.

so I guess we will call this the dumb find of the day thread

Well, that's classifieds for yah. Some people are merely naïve, some are after $$ and clueless buyers, but some are actually quite conscientious, considerate, and well-meaning.

I continually advertise on CL and having been vising about a dozen of hobbyists a month on average over the last 7 years in upstate NY and in south FL. Vast majority of those folks are pleasant to deal with. Some even drive to my place for 2-4 hours to bring their beloved wet pet. That's, sadly, become an astonishing dedication that's pretty rare.

I do see all the time rather unreasonable ads. There is a good portion of people out there who want to make $$ or at least recoup 100% investment on their (used!) tank or outgrown pet that they either cannot take care of anymore or don't want anymore. Ads for a $120 gal tank for ~$300-$500 or for 2' RTC or 1'-2' silver aro for ~$200 pop up regularly.

One thing we can't blame them for is for trying :) Natural selection, one thinks, will straighten out them and the buyers if they manage to find them :)
