So I have 3 thermometers on separate tanks and i decided to see if all their readings matched up. Put them all in the 280 and let them stabilize...Oh wow...one said 80.2, one said 83.4, and the last said 84.5. What do I do? How do i know my damn tank temps?!!

get a meat thermometer or something more true and test with it to find out what one is right

The best way is to have a good laboratory grade thermometer to baseline your other thermometers with.

Sorry but I wouldn't trust a meat thermometer as far as I could throw it.
