Has anyone used the Marina Aqua-Minder thermometers? Are they generally fairly accurate? What do you use to find the temp of your water? What do you find to be the most accurate device?

Just keep it simple but not cheap buy a quality heater

$6 bucks. I like the probe it comes with, you can stick it in an overflow or a hob filter if you want.

First one I ever bought and the digital screen went blank two months after I bought. Just my one and only experience with this thermometer. Others might have had them last longer. Sometimes old school is still the way to go IMO.

I always keep back ups and I did have one go bad. I have 4 atm and they are doing well. Oldest is a year or so. Always have an old fashioned back up though. ......... oh and piranha seem to enjoy the probe so if you use it with them best stick probe in hob.

I use a glass thermometer for quick looks and a digital oregon scientific meat thermometer (wireless, so i can check temp from my bedside!) for normal use.

those cheap glass ones for a 1$....
