These are lapradei right?

The lfs I work at got these in last shipment as palmas palmas but obviously it isn't that species. It isn't even an upper jaw species. I laughed at that. I assumed they were laps so I changed the name. Was I correct?

Yup. Washed out Nigerian laps. They'll color up on better substrate.

Max size on them are around 2 feet correct? I 18 inches in aquaria but it seems that's common so I don't see why they don't get larger?

well it's common for them to slow down to extremely slow growth around 18" some will stay around 18"-20" some will grow a bit larger. Depends on the genes (assuming food, water, and tank size are all adequate).
