I tried to get a vid, but the light was off, but I got a pic of them when I took out the decor.

Last week my Green Terror died and my 9 CL's, 1 Pleco, and a small crayfish who was supposed to be food but lived was all that remained. I did a water change today and rearranged the tank. I tossed the crayfish, who is always hiding and I never see, into another tank. In fact, I didn't know he was still in there until I took everything out. Normally by 11pm the loaches are all tucked in for sleepy time, but they are still up swimming all over the entire tank!

Four of them are 6"+; 3 females and 1 male. The boy is swimming like he is joined at the gill to these girls. I've never seen them dance quite like this before and I've had them for about 2 years. I wonder what made them so happy? The GT never bossed them at all, so I don't think it's his absence. I wonder if that crayfish came out at night and pinched at them. Maybe they just like the "new" arrangement. I notice when I move stuff around they usually perk up, but not this much. I forgot how much I love these little buggers!

All 9 are actually in this picture but the big ones are hiding smaller ones. The other 5 are 3-4". Pic uploaded tiny, but the male (Biggie Mac) is in the right front. The girls are Maximus, Slim, and Harley.

nice looking loaches. i'mgoing to start making homemade food for mine so they get that big and healthy soon. maybe they just got spooked./

Once they reach about 4" you can sex them. The females get a tall, fat body with a slightly downward pointing tail. The males are more torpedo shaped.
