just got a pair of sals for my 55 last friday and they have laid ALREADY !!!! she is still all beat to crap from the tank i got her from. at thr lfs they had about 6 sals and 5 fm in a 15.

i just noticed that it appeard she had her tube out then WOW look at all the eggs...


i still have an some fish in that tank to move (have not had time due to work) guess i better move them quick !!!



i have eggs coming out of my ears !!! first the sajica now the sals :WHOA: :WHOA:

Nice! You may want to consider separating the pair. I have had two breeding salvini pairs in the past. Both times the male killed the female soon after breeding.
 
thanks for the info i will keep a close eye on him.. so far she is the nasty one. but i am sure he is going to want more before she does !!!

your sals are coloring up nice. I think it just takes time. The male I have took a while to get comfortable, but when he did, the color just exploded. I got my pair on separate occasions and each time the fish was the dominant fish in the tank. Maybe that has something to do with the color they are showing at such a small size.

What do you feed yours?
 
hikari cichlid gold, meal worms, earth worms, squid and shrimp from the supermarket. Occasionally some beefheart cubes. they don't seem to care for bloodworms. Every once in a while they will chew on some frozen peas.
