I'm new here, so bare with me.
I have 2 golden red tail barbs, 1 blood parrot, 1 king kong blood parrot and 1 african catfish.
A few days ago, the King Kong decided she wanted to be an ******* to all the other fish in the tank, especially my big parrot who has a really deformed mouth and can't defend herself. I thought my big parrot had swim bladder disorder, so I put her in a q-tank. I tested the levels and the nitrates were off the charts. Like, well above 200.
I left the big parrot in the q-tank for 3 days, she improved greatly. She was only acting strange because she was being attacked by the king kong.
We moved the tank and did a massive water change, and cleaned all the decorations in the tank. Raised the temp and got the nitrates under control. All the levels are normal now. The temp is at around 83*. Yesterday, the parrots were laying on their sides and not looking good, because the water was too cold, especially the king kong. I did have to lower the pH because it was way too high for all the fish. The parrots seem to be doing great though, they're colorful and energetic.
But now my barbs are acting strange. They're having a hard time swimming and actually one of them is upside down, but still alive. The other one is okay it looks like.
Is the water too hot for them?
Are they in shock? What is going on with them? Should I put the one that is upside down in the q-tank?
