It’s only been 11 days since I took the last two babies out of Greenie and Oliver’s tank. Greenie hasn’t spawned in months. She was a monthly spawner previously, but stopped after the fry ate one of her spawns.
Well, today she decided she was ready to lay again. I was hoping she’d wait till they were moved to the new tank, but I guess I’m not working fast enough for her. So here she is with her eggs

I had to turn the lights off after taking a couple pictures. Greenie gets very violent with the lights on. I did a w/c right before they spawned so the water was still a bit hazy. And of course the wonderful glare>.<

P PYRU Thank you

You know that these two fish are the major reason I got Hotlipz. They are just beautifull and I had to have one. You must be so proud a keeper to raise such healthy, good looking fish.

Thank you, I really appreciate the compliment.
I do feel pretty honored to have this pair. And I want to do right by them in giving them the best life possible.

Your girl Hotlips is such a cutie pie:) She is just a little smaller then my Greenie. I’m very curious to see Hotlips growth rate.
Greenie has grown very slowly since hitting 6” a long while back. Spawning has really slowed things down for her.

She is actually getting quite brave. She leaps for food as it hits the water, usually landing on Toni's face....... She even had the nerve to nip Toni's fin the other day. Not a bite, just a little nibble with no damage done. Toni flips out. Goes swimming back and forth across the tank trashing about. Then stops at me and looks at me like "Why did you let her do that to me" then goes and sulks in a corner.

Haha, she’s got some attitude.

Great pics and fish! That is a ton of eggs! Best of luck with them!

Thank you. As many as it is, this isn’t a big batch for her. And I don’t anticipate these guys lasting long. Fungus seems to overtake the eggs/wigglers unless I salt the tank. It was a lot of work to rehome the last group so I won’t be keeping these guys. I want to focus on my trio:)

That’s a gorgeous couple. I have such a soft spot for these. One of the best fish ever.
