Removing fish from the menu? Its says as long as you feed a good variety of foods it won't be a problem. You can feed prawns, shrimp, even feeders that contain this as long as your feeding good stuff like worms, pellets, good fillets like bass, bluegill, tilapia ect.. The article touches on the effects of freezing foods but it fails to say anything about the benefits of feeding live. NONE of what's listed is bad for your fish if you feed other foods also. Even a good food isn't so good, if fed exclusively. Variety is the key to feed whatever. Good cancels out the bad. Imo this article should be teaching you to add more foods to your fishes diet not taking food sources away.

Bruner trust me you lessons at the cove taught me variety is best but I just figured I'd cut off a few of the things from the top of those lists just to err on the side of cation. Continue with the prawn but cut out the whitefish which I can get loads of but have to keep for longer. Cut out the fatheads and shiners cause they're pretty much bait to me anyway.

Can't manage to get my sanchezi to take pellets but I stuff silversliders at least once a week. Haven't tried vitamin soaks but my worms sit in fruit/vegetable compost and if you are what you eat its my hope some of that good stuff is getting to the fish.

I figure with all the stuff I offer already my fish won't miss the whitefish or the bits of channel cat.

I cant imagine thiamanese becoming a true problem unless it is served with every meal... ive seen people who feed their reds goldfish and lunchmeat and they still get 8-9 inches... not healthy of course, but there are plenty of other contibuting factors to health and size other than diet

Imo. The benefits of feeding live outway the negatives if a good variety diet is offered. I'm not afraid to feed minnows, shrimp, prawns, or even goldfish as long as just as many good foods are fed.also the effects of this has never been tested or researched on piranha. So its a guess wheather this even effects piranha anyhow.
