I have a friend, and her pond is may be 1200 gallons (not for sure). She has it totally shaded, two uv serilizers on it, has a internal pre-filter and a canister style bio-filter. No live plants. She has used algae fix by api, water changes. We are stumped. And the store's are stumped as well. Any one have any advice??? Thanks

How old are the uvs? They might be burned out. Also, I had the same problem whenever I did a large wc on my pond. I would get a huge algae bloom for a couple days. I think it was from all of the dissolved minerals in the water that gave the algae something to feed on.

Indeed, fresh tap water is the cause of the bloom, it's just to rich and the algae can feed like crazy from the stuff.

Keep you gutters clean and use a water butt to harvest rainwater instead.

How many and what kind of fish are in the pond?

Sounds like not enough filtration. If two UV's can't clear-up green water then there are other problems. Green water is caused by excessive nutrients in the water. Plants and a good filtration system will work wonders.
