90 x 24 x 30 acrylic tank, what should the thickness of the aquarium be? I believe its 280 gallons, anyone have any ideas on how much it'll weigh when I go pick it up? Also, it has a built in overflow on the side, I've never seen this before or used an overflow, what can I expect? It's also coming with a 4 month old sump, pretty stoked, fill this thread up with comments that get me excited, thanks guys.

It will be either .5" or (better) .75" thick. My 300 (96x24x30) is made out of .75" acrylic and probably weighs 300 pounds, maybe 350. I unloaded it with just one other guy, but we only had to move it about twenty feet from the truck and it was pretty difficult.

Congrats on the new tank, I'm sure you're stoked! :headbang2

So I went and took a look this morning. Wife wasn't too happy with the stand and I wasn't too happy with the seals. Probably not going to go with this one. I may have to either fix up the 220 glass in my garage or buy a new one. I love the idea of acrylic but it's just too expensive new, and I think my wife may be happier if i go with a new tank, stand, and canopy. I don't want the canopy but guess who makes the decisions?

Also thanks for the input guys, now I know just a tad bit more about acrylic which I'm sure will be useful at some point. Personally I think it was the overflow, and sump that my wife was unhappy with, it was a little loud.
