Thickness?

I am in no way close to making this tank (about a decade or two off...) but I do have plans for it. If someone were to make a tank say 20'x 10'x 3' wouldn't you need something like 2" thick acrylic?
And for something like a 12'x 6'x 3' tank wouldn't you go with a 1" acrylic?
So am I close or far off with the thickness?

Height of the tank is more of a factor then length or width when factoring thickness. So if it's 3' tall then you would do what ever thickness is called for on a 3' tall tank. Of course this assumes proper bracing. I know more about glass than acrylic but from the research I was doing for my plywood build of eventuality it looked to be the same but thickness was greater on acrylic then glass in every scenario.
