What type of aggression do they show when agressive?

Fin nipping, biting etc?

From what i have seen they have territorial disputes sometimes and they will chase each other around and slam the fish with there mouth as they do when eating.

If this gets out of hand and the datnoide keeps picking on one fish it may perish. I have lost some fish and scales off of fish because of this behavior.

I have only noticed this in larger datnoides but smaller ones will still have disputes just not as life threatening.

There mouths are not designed for "biting" or "nipping" but rather engulfing there prey whole. There mouths are very powerfull and can do some damage when large enough.

I had up to 8 thin bars and they def. poke at each other when the bully finally catches the others. Eventually you will see ripped fins and scratch on the body.

This is what I have experienced.
