My snowball pleco has a bony projection near its fin. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it feels like a bone. It is stuck firmly in the pleco, it may even be growing from it. The pleco is starting to get raised scales and I'm worried it may have dropsy. I don't know if the "thing" and the dropsy are related, but I'd like to remove the "thing" if possible.
