Things on filter intake

What are these weird things on my filter intake? I recently started using api pH up. Do you think it has to do with that?

Oh damn lol, 3 blue gouramis, two large angelfish, few tetras and an EBJD

Yeah cuz the angelfish sit by it all day and are very aggressively chasing other fish that go near it.
