Arowanas - Everyone has them. Why I don't know. They swim back and forth all day like a robot (no yours isn't different). I've seen goldfish with more personality.

Red Tail Catfish - They reach lengths of over 4 feet, yet people seem to think they can keep them in their aquarium. No, you're not going to upgrade, it's going back to the LFS to lead a traumatic life like all the other ones. Most will never see a pond.

"Big Tanks" - Ask those 15 Peacock Bass that are stuffed in your 200 gallon if it's big. What's ironic is that most fish who end up stunted come from the big tanks, not the small ones.

Plecos - Uglier than sin. Produce more waste than they're supposed to clean... and lazy.

Frequent Water Changes - If you have to change the water every 3 days, you either need a bigger tank, or need to lose some fish. Don't worry - that Snakehead will take care of it.

Over-filtered Tanks - You have an FX5 and 3 HOB filters in a 55 gallon? With all that money you spent you could have crammed a couple of Aro's in there. You did, didn't you?

Feeders - You wonder why your Oscar only lived 4 years? Noo, it couldn't have been the parasitic, disease harboring goldies that are housed together by the hundreds in a filthy tank. Good thing they got a Whisper 30 on the back.

Dividers - That poor fish was already in a cramped tank. Now it's twice as bad. That Jaguar on the other side didn't make out too well either.

I think he has a good sense of humour and is hilarious! :popcorn:I knew that some overly sensitive people wouldn't be able to take a joke.:chillpill: Relax and let someone poke fun at our hobby without crapping yourself.:)

BRAVO!!

Yes I agree... Everything he said whether we like it or not is VERY true. It is ok to get annoyed with a hobby now and again, And at least he had the humor and balls to admit how flawed keeping fish is no matter how perfect our tanks supposedly are.

I love my fish, and will most likely never quit this hobby, however even captive bred fish had to start somewhere in the wild to get here to us in tanks. And everyone knows 200g will never be enough for fish that would normally have miles of water to flourish in. So I agree 100% with that statement.

We also keep fish together from different parts of the world, that otherwise would never see each other in the wild.

What we do with fish is truly weird, but just like me, we keep doing it for the love for fish.

Thanks for keeping it real Bulldog. :)

I also agree, most of bulldogs points are valid whether you like it or not, it also made me laugh

This is definitely a baited thread. Keep it clean.
